Introduction and Review
‘Infinity in the Palm of Her Hand’, a book by Gioconda Belli is a sweet little re-telling of the story of Adam and Eve. It is well written and the characters well drawn.
However, maybe for me the book suffered from the high expectations of glorious reviews including from Salman Rushdie, as well as the very intriguing introduction about secret manuscripts accidentally falling into the authors’ hands, for I found the book somewhat disappointing.
Perhaps it was because I was already familiar with the story of Adam and Eve without having ever properly read it before – which made me oblivious to the creativity Belli might have introduced in the story.
