About

HELLO. MY NAME IS NIPUN.

Avid reader on the quest to read the world

Story behind this blog

Cataloguing and organizing things is something I have instinctively been doing my entire life. This blog, for me, is only the next steps to catalogue my most serious hobby – reading.

I first started to read regularly well over a decade ago. Ten book down I realized I need to make a list, if I am to remember what I am reading; A few more books later, I added a word file to capture my favorite quotes from the books. As my reading expanded beyond Indian writers, I started plotting this on a map – naturally I also started dreaming of filling up the map.

But there was a gap – writers don’t just stick to writing about places they are born in, and not to say anything of the era the books cover – so I built an excel that captures the place and time too.

As the volume of books continued to increase – I needed better ways to remember them – so I started noting down my thoughts about the books – which eventually nerd-maxxed into multiple google forms.

The blog therefore, is something that has been years in the making – but the first one of my catalogues open to public. And while past experiences suggest that it will keep constantly evolving, it will always remain somewhat personal – for what I will try to capture here is how I want to remember each of the book I read.
